Graded Grooves

Six volumes of ensemble music for use with GCSE, BTEC ND and A level students. The books easily adapt to various instrumental combinations as all the transposed parts are included in the sets. Each volume has parts for 3 front line instruments:- parts in C for violin, flute, oboe, tuned percussion or trombone. In Bb for flugel trumpet/ cornet/, clarinet, soprano sax, baritone/ euphonium or tenor sax. In Eb for alto sax, tenor horn, baritone sax or Eb bass.
The rhythm section parts include 2 separate parts for guitar or keyboard (mainly single line), 1 chord part, piano part, synthesiser part, bass, drum kit and hand percussion parts. (some vocal cues and ideas are included in the synthesiser parts) Each volume has a section for composition/ improvisation with given chord symbols and notes on improvisational and arrangement techniques.
All compositions are written by Peter R. Birkby and the series is edited by Richard Ingham.
