All compositions in this series have been written for larger mixed ability groups of percussionists. Each piece has parts for beginners, intermediate and some advanced players. Some of the pieces in this series have optional extra accompaniment parts to give a greater variety of sound for concert performances.

Cha Cha Cha And Mambo ISMN 57007 006 0  
Elementary ensemble ustilising basic Cuban rhythms with tuned parts of timpani, tubular bells and vibraphone adding bass and melody parts. The mambo section is twice as fast as the first section with the addition of an optional flute.

Intermediate standard Drum quartet with optional quintet and sextet parts. All drum instrumentation (6 snare drums or combinations of snare, tom-toms and bass drum, split kit) with music changing from a 12/8 to 4/4 rock.

Instruments needed;- orchestral bass drum, bongos, whistles, drum kit, metal, wooden and plastic junk, empty tin cans, keys, twigs, chains, paper, carrier bags and other junk. Some choreography and imagination in finding the junk to be played gives this lively piece extra visual impact.

Basic samba patterns in Battucada section style with some "question and answer" phrases. Melody is played by intermediate standard brass or saxophone accompaniment parts (rhythm section parts also supplied for concert option). Ideal to add strong melody to the Samba School.

4 movements for whistle quartet;- Hot Air Waltz, Field Song, On The Pond, A Real Mouthful .Whistles needed;- straight, pea, siren, train (three tone), nightingale, cuckoo, dove, peewit, 4 duck calls and optional starting pistol. (On The Pond is an ideal concert and encore piece, 4 duck calls in a jolly 6/8 march always gets a cheer and often a laugh.)

Typical examples of melody/melodic riffs in the intermediate keyboard percussion parts, drum kit and timpani provide the rhythmic drive with hand percussion giving the double tempo shuffle feel.
