Written as a mini-musical this advanced percussion solo features many of the techniques required for performing in music theatre situations:- ensemble playing with strings, brass, woodwind and rhythm section; fast changes of instruments, solo and accompaniment styles on timpani, keyboard and Latin instruments with effects (traditional instruments and samples/ synthesised). Band accompaniment is:- flute, violins, trumpet, horn or trombone, tuba, 2 keyboards (synths.) bass guitar and drum kit. |

Rhythmic themes and silent bars are used throughout to make the contrasts of sounds more effective. |

4 tom toms and timpani (4 pedals) with intermediate wind band accompaniment. A calm middle section requires controlled dynamics before the return of the fanfare with timpani to conclude the piece. |

(String and brass parts are intermediate to advanced standard.) |
